Equal effort demands equal treatment

By Melissa M. and Charmaine S.

The girls of Peacock need and deserve new uniforms for the upcoming basketball and volleyball seasons. The boys receive new uniforms each season, why shouldn’t we? Our level of play and effort is equal to that of boys so we deserve equal benefits. On behalf of the athletic girls at Peacock, let’s stop wearing the same sweaty uniforms year after year. It’s time for a change.

Recycling is the smart thing to do

By Amar P.

I have learned some very interesting things about recycling at Peacock. Did you know it takes a lot of money to dispose of garbage at lunch? If you recycle, you can save education money. Education money is money that is better used in our classrooms. In our school, you can share food that is left over if someone is hungry. If you know that you can’t eat everything you bring to lunch, then only bring what you will finish. Also, if you plan to buy lunch, or a snack, please do not bring a lunch or an extra snack that you will not eat. Or take the extra food home rather than throwing it in the garbage. Another good idea is to bring a reusable container or bag.

Zareena on the MTV music video awards

By Zareena J.

Hello friends, I told you I would return. Today I shall favor you with my opinions on dress and behavior of the stars. I would like to begin with listing the five best and worst dressed.

Best:

1. Blackstreet

2. Beck

3. Chris Rock

4. That dude from Jameriqoi

5. Puff Daddy

Worst:

1. Spice Girls

2. Missy Elliot

3. Diaper Boy from No Doubt

4. Busta Rymes

5. Gwen Stefani

The Nominees for most revealing outfit are:

Mariah Carey and Marilyn Manson

I know I should say something about Janet Jackson’s new hair, but when she came on stage, a big flash of orange momentarily blinded me and I saw nothing.

I would also like to congratulate Missy Elliot for setting the world record for wearing the most unflattering plastic outfits two years in a row. Gold pants...?!

On a more positive note, I would like to announce that Madonna has gone from trashy to like, dowdy.

I would also like to know why Martha Stewart was presenting an award with Busta Rymes, of whom she very scared.

I would like to thank the stars above that Hanson did not win any awards. That would be an insult to even Barney!

To Fiona Apple, I would like to say, for the love of chocolate, EAT SOMETHING!!!!!

Thank you and have a lovely day.
