Alex review the shortened NBA season
By Alex J.

The action in the NBA has been up to pace so far this season. Our Un- beat- a- Bulls are anything but unbeatable. They have a pathetic record and are sitting at the bottom of the East. Tony Kukoc hasn't lived up to expectations and has failed to show leadership. The only thing they're playing for is a high draft choice.
In the East, the surprise and best team is the Orlando Magic, who own the East's best record. With all-star Penny Hardaway and the talent of Nick Anderson and Ike Austin, the Magic seem to be unstoppable. They are practically unbeatable at home. Milwaukee, Indiana, and Miami pose the greatest threat to Orlando. Indiana, led by Reggie Miller, is a good bet to win the East because they have the league's best bench play. New York and Philadelphia are also strong ball clubs. NBA leading scorer Allen Iverson leads Philadelphia and veteran Patrick Ewing leads New York.
Out West, the obvious team is the Utah Jazz led by the dynamic duo of Karl Malone and John Stockton. Utah will make one final push for the championship. Malone and Stockton are most likely playing in their final seasons. They have come up short every year. The Seattle Supersonics are tough. They are led by Gary Payton who can suffocate you with his defense. Another strong team is the Los Angeles Lakers. They are loaded with talent such as Shaquille O'Neal and the man with the offensive skills to become the next Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant. The Lakers also have "Bad Boy" rebounding specialist Dennis Rodman. San Antonio, and Portland are also strong in the West.
My predictions are that the Orlando Magic well beat Indiana to take the East, and the Utah Jazz will beat Seattle to take the West. The finals between the Magic and Jazz will be close. I think Utah will prevail in Malone and Stockton's final season. Orlando will be tough though. I'd rather see Orlando win it all.
PREDICTIONS
MVP- Gary Payton- Seattle Supersonics
Rookie of the Year- Vince Carter- Toronto Raptors
Defensive Player of the Year- Gary Payton- Seattle Supersonics
Coach of the Year- Chuck Daly- Orlando Magic

Bulls are waiting for next season
By Matt G.

I would like to write a good story about the Bulls, but there is not much that's good about the Bulls right now, so here it is. The Bulls have lost Jordan, Pippen, Kerr, Bucheler and Rodman, in short, practically everyone. They acquired Mark Bryant, Brent Barry and a few other players to fill up uniforms. The Bulls are one of the worst teams in the NBA and Eastern Conference. They are not good enough to do much of anything this season, but with a losing season, they will hopefully get a good lottery pick for next year. Also Chicago is better at away than home.
Toni Kukoc is the Bulls high scorer. But the Bulls can't win just with Toni. They need better players and more of them. Randy Brown, Cory Carr, Brent Barry and Kornell David are getting better, but that's not saying much. The Bulls are one of the worst 3 point shooting teams in the NBA. They average 33% at 3 pointers which is bad. The Bull's record will probably be 15-35 at the end of the short 50 game season. Good going Jerry Krause!
