Students should set goals for a successful school year
By Maggie F.

School has just begun and almost everyone wants to have better grades in a class or wants to be neater. Well, I think that this is great, but why not have this attitude all year round? I think that we should write a goal on a piece of paper at the beginning of each quarter, and then try to accomplish it. At the end of the quarter, we can look at it and see whether we have accomplished our goals. It is good to accomplish a goal we set each quarter.

I also think this will help our school. Having better grades and more students involved in activities is good for everyone. This can be a personal goal set by a student, or you can set goals with your class. I hope that our students think about setting goals to help ourselves and our school.

The new gym rocks the school!
By Jason V.

Welcome Back to Peacock Jr. High. I hope you all had a great summer. In my opinion, the work Dr. Nickisch has done to improve the gym is great. The gym used to have shoe marks up and down the floor, and part of the coating on the floor kept on peeling off. But now the gym floor looks better than ever with a new shellac covering, stencils of the charger and the school name, and new school spirit signs hanging on the walls.
When you have the chance, look around the gym. Come on, admit it. The gym looks much better. You see, Dr. Nickisch would never do this if he didn’t care about how the gym looks. And it looks like a great way to start the new school year. So if you ever see him in the hall, don’t forget to say thank you for improving our gym.
