Modern rock fuses many types of music together to make a hybrid form. The band, Rage Against The Machine revolutionized this style, along with several other bands. Incubus is one of these bands, except that Incubus actually has good music. Don't get me wrong, some other hybrid music is good too.
Incubus's new CD S.C.I.E.N.C.E, however, is something special. With twelve solid tracks, it integrates Hip-Hop with heavy and syncopated guitar riffs, almost producing a Limp Bizkit sound without everyone doing their own thing.
Incubus's first album, Make Yourself, didn't get much publicity, but their latest effort is getting some coverage in magazines such as Guitar 1.
A few songs to download, if you have Napster (an MP3 player) are "New Skin," "Idiot Box," and "A Certain Shade Of Green." Although all the songs are great, these are incredible.
Incubus is one band that actually sings lyrics and not mindless gibberish. While the world of fused music and hybrid songs won't last forever, Incubus will be the group you'll still want to listen to.

True or False: There's no place quite like it

If you're talking about Dave and Buster's, the answer to that question is true. D&B's is a place where kids can have fun with their parents. Even though you have to be with someone over twenty-five, this place is still fun.
Located on 1155 N. Swift Road, Addison, IL 60101, Dave and Buster's phone number is (630) 543-5151. I went to the restaurant with my dad. The menu ranges from burgers and sandwiches, to ribs, steaks, pasta and seafood. The service was really good and so was the food and kid friendliness.
Here's a little background. Dave and Buster's was built in Addison in 1995. Since then, D&B's have opened from California to Delaware's waterfront, and even in England. The first D&B's was opened in Dallas, Texas in 1988. This place is growing very rapidly and I can see why.
After you've finished the food, head on down to the Midwaythat's where the fun really begins. Games of all kinds, even golf, are available, screaming out "Play me! Play me!"
After you've used up all the points you have on your Powercard, stomp down to the Winner's Circle. There are prizes from plastic rings to phones to mini jukeboxes. The fun never ends when you're at Dave and Buster's.

The Ego Has Landed

Robbie Williams was recently named one of the top three influential musicians for the next millennium. This comes as no surprise. A former member of Britain's teen-bop group sensation, Take That, Williams was labeled as one of the group's "backup singers" and noted for his "lack of talent." Well, where have the other members of Take That gone?
Williams appeared on the pop culture scene in 1998, and since then, he has had two hit singles. Who could forget last year's anthem, "Millennium,"(We've got stars directing our fate, Millennium./ And we're praying it's not too late, Millennium./'Cos we know we're falling from grace, Millennium) and "Angels" in which he sounds a lot like Elton John. Williams also wrote all of the songs on his new album, The Ego Has Landed - how many pop stars can say that?
Robbie Williams's life hasn't always been perfect. When he was fired from Take That, he became very depressed and turned to drugs and alcohol for salvation. Which, in turn, landed him in rehab many times. A lot of his past shows up in his songs on Ego, and now the healthy, vibrant, and humorous Williams is getting over his mistakes and on with his life.
The Ego Has Landed has everything; a ton of dance-worthy songs, catchy lyrics and Robbie's great voice. He's definitely grown from his errors, and still retains his boyish good looks and charm.

Fantastic! is the only word a person can use to describe Imax's very first full-length animated movie, Fantasia 2000. Based on the ideas of the first Fantasia, Roy Disney takes you on a trip of sight and sound you will never forget.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra (led by James Levine) performs some of the most beautiful and well-known musical pieces, such as Ludwig Van Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5," George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," and everyone's favorite, Sir Edward Elgars "Pomp and Circumstance."
Fantasia also features Bette Midler, Steve Martin, and the magicians, Pen and Teller as they introduce different segments of the show.
The movie uses three different kinds of music: the kind that tells a definite story, the type that while it has no specific story, suggests pictures related to the music, and the third type, which shows the rhythm and melody as moving shapes and colors.
Fantasia is a must see movie of the year.

Galaxy Quest soars with special effects

Galaxy Quest is an adventure, comedy movie with awesome effects. Starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Alan Rickman, Galaxy Quest starts off at a convention for fans of a popular scifi T.V. show, "Galaxy Quest," that is no longer on the air.
After the characters were introduced, they had to sign autographs. The star of the show, Jason, (Tim Allen), ran into some strange peoplehe thought they were fans in costume.
The next morning, Jason wakes up and notices that the strange people from the convention are at his house and mistakes them for people sent to bring him to another public appearance.
The aliens try to explain that they are from space, and that they need his help to save them from another alien named Serris, who is trying to steal something called the Omega 13 from them.
Jason goes with the aliens not knowing that they took him because they needed his help. Later, he finds out what is really going, and tells the rest of the cast from Galaxy Quest to follow him.
At first the cast thinks he's lying but then they end up following him, thinking that they'll get parts in another T.V. show. Then they find out what's really going on!
Galaxy Quest has a lot of action and humor. This was a really cool movie because of its special effects. Galaxy Quest is rated PG. I recommend this movie and give it 3 out of 4 stars.

Down to You is a sweet and romantic interlude

If you are looking for a teen flick that's sweet and romantic, not bloody and violent, that also features one of today's cute young actors, try Down to You, which stars Freddie Prinze Jr. and Julia Stiles, from Ten Things I Hate About You.
In this cute movie, Freddie portrays Al, a college student not really looking for a relationship, who meets college freshman, Imogen (Stiles). They instantly fall for one another on more than one level, including a shared fondness for cake.

X-Files set to continue for a seventh season of the strange and unexplained

The X-Files is a mix of thriller, mystery, suspense, and sometimes comedy. This is a very good show but may not be appropriate for younger viewers.
The show is about two FBI agents named Mulder, played well by David Duchovny, and Scully, played wonderfully by Gillian Anderson. They work on cases called X-Files, which deal with the paranormal or just plain weird stuff.
In its seventh season, The X-Files was created by a man named Chris Carter, who also created other T.V. shows, including Millenium and Harsh Realm.
Some big stars have gotten their start on The X-Files. Seth Green of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, was in the second episode of the first season, "Deep Throat," where he played a stoner punk named Emil.
Doug Hutchison of the Green Mile, played in two episodes, "Squeeze" and "Tooms" in the early seasons. He was a man who every thirty years had to eat five livers to survive.
Paul McCrane, ER, starred in "Leonard Betts" in the title role. It was about a man who could grow back any part of his body because he was made entirely out of cancer.
In the third season episode "D.P.O.," a young man, Giovanni Ribisi, Mod Squad and Friends, portrayed a man who was able to control lightning.
Last but not least, Lucy Liu, Payback and Ally McBeal, played a young girl named Kim with leukemia in "Hell Money."
The first three stories this season were about a tablet, thought to be of alien making, that was found on a beach in Africa. Something about the tablet had a crazy effect on Mulder, whose brain seemed to have a phenomonal amount of activity.
After all the weirdness that the duo went through with the tablets, they next approached an even weirder case about a young man who needed to eat human brains to live.
Mulder and Scully's next case was about zombies. They called upon Frank Black, the star of Millenium, to help solve their case, before the New Year and big trouble. Many X-Files fans want Mulder and Scully to get together romantically, they're called shippers (as in relationshippers). They loved this episode because Mulder and Scully shared a New Year's kiss!
After all those zombies, Mulder and Scully took on a case about some teenagers who went into a weird cave and gained the power to move faster than the eye can see. They would commit crimes but no one would know, because even video cameras could only catch them in one frame and it was still really blurry.
Their next case was about a man with the best luck on earth, but something bad always happened in a chain reaction. He kept trying to win money so his neighbor, a little boy named Richie, could have a transplant. This episode had a happy ending!
Scully had no luck and big problems in their next case. It concerned a serial killer, Eddie Pfaster, who escaped from prison and was out to get Scully, the one who got away, by slowing down time and making people see things that weren't real.
Mulder and Scully's next case had a little magic. It was about a magician who performed a trick that went horribly wrong and ran a complicated scam involving revenge and a bank robbery. Even Scully made some magic in this episode.
The awesome duo's next case was fangtastic. It was about snake handlers under suspicion for murder with poisonous snakes. Mulder and Scully got into some really snakey situations.
If you want to hear more of these stories about The X Files, tune in to the FOX network on Sundays at 8:00 P.M., but if you like staying up late, check them out on Saturdays at 11:00 P.M. or on Sundays at 10:00 P.M.
