"Bats" is a thriller movie that stars Dina Meyer and Lou Diamond Phillips. The movie is about a zoologist named Sheila (Meyer) who studies and takes care of bats. One day she was asked to help with a case that involved bats killing people. A scientist said that the bats escaped while he was performing medical experiments. Later on, however, we find out that he was a crazy scientist who believed that he would be able to control the bats and turn them into carnivores. What follows in this movie are a lot of killed people, and finding out how to stop or kill the bats. I thought this movie was more hilarious than scary, but if you are someone who doesnt like seeing people getting killed than I dont recommend this movie for you. Also, if youre a person that wants to get scared, this movie wouldnt be that scary. The movie is rated PG-13, and I give this movie a 2 out of 4, it wasnt something to pay five-dollars for. This years Halloween blockbuster is "The House on Haunted Hill." The movie opens in a 1930s insane asylum where a demented doctor performs inane experiments on patients. Suddenly, the patients revolt and kill the doctors and themselves. Flash to 1990 at a newly opened amusement park. The park owner, Vincent Price (okay, so hes been gone awhile), throws a birthday party for his wife in the exact same building as the old asylum. The guests who show up are not the ones whom the wife invited. Despite that little complication, the party starts and Price reveals that who ever survives the night will get $1 million dollars. Without warning the house goes into a lock down, a holdover from when it was a hospital. The guests, Mr. and Mrs. Price and all in attendance are trapped inside. The night turns into a terror feast for all. They try to find the master switch to unlock the house and in turn are terrorized and murdered by the enraged ghosts of the dead patients and senile doctor. This movie will leave you as breathless and shaking as I was. After watching numerous horror stories in the past this one really got to me. You'll need a parent to see it though because "House on Haunted Hill" is rated R. Email The Charger about this review.
Pokémon is the hottest new thing in kid culture. As you may know, the new Pokémon TV show is a huge success. Pokémon Cards (based on the TV series) are owned by practically everyone. This is a great show for kids. If you're a Pokémon fan, you can watch all new episodes on Sunday morning at 11 o'clock on Kids' WB (Ch. 26 THE U without cable). I give it 5 full stars. For real Pokémon action, also go see the new movie which opens in theaters on November 10, "Pokémon: The First Movie." It is about a boy named Ash, age 11, who is on a mission to capture all 150 Pokémon and counting. His sidekick, Pikachu always helps Ash to defeat whatever obstacles stand in his way to fulfil his destiny. Ash's two friends, Brock and Misty also help him capture all 150 Pokémon. Enjoy! In Chicago, the concerts were held October 5-7 at the Allstate Arena (formerly known as the Rosemont Horizon). The tickets sold out all over America in about an hour or so. The openers for their show were Mandy Moore and EYC. Everyone was waiting for the Back Street Boys. When they finally came out they came out on floating lit up boogie boards. They sang songs from both CDs. Their songs were great and their harmonies were wonderful. If youve wasted your time and read this whole article and you have never heard of the Back Street Boys, you must have been living in a cave. Their names are Nick, A.J., Brian, Kevin, and Howie. Which one is your favorite? Email The Charger about this review. Backstreet Boys are no one-day wonder The Backstreet Boys have been together since 1993. Starting out in Florida, they have been at the top of the charts. Their first CD was called Backstreet Boys. One of my favorite songs from their debut CD was "Quit Playing Games [With My Heart]." Their latest CD, Millennium, came out in 1999. The Boys, Kevin, Howie, Nick, Brian and A.J., went to Europe for the first time in 1999 and they were all excited and visited Big Ben and the London Bridge. Over the years, they have collected tons of pictures. Kevins mom has been a big influence on them and helped put the group together. A.J. has taped the group and believes that they would be able to make a Backstreet Boys show. The Backstreet Boys are going to be a hit for years to come. Email The Charger about this review. The Blair Witch Project The Blair Witch Project is the stupidest movie I have ever seen. The filmmakers, Michael Williams, Joshua Leonard and Heather Donahue, were film students from Montgomery College. All they did was swear, drink beer and talk a lot. The only good part is when the mom tells her three year old that the movie is a fake and then she turns around and says it is real. In an interview with seventh grader Adam S., he said, "This is the worst movie I have ever seen in my life." I would rather see Elmo in Grouchland 1000 times than the Blair Witch Project again. 0 of 5 stars Email The Charger about this review. Virtually everything about the game is great. You can pick any wrestler, and if you win the WWF title you get secret wrestlers. You can also choose a career mode, where you start out ranked 20th, and you have to climb the ladder to win the European, Intercontinental, and WWF titles. If you have a controller pack you can make your own pay-per-view event, where you pick all the matches. For those of you who just want to play a single match, jazz it up by making it a hardcore or a cage match. If you think the only way to win is to pin, you're wrong. There are first blood matches in which the first person to bleed loses, and I quit matches, in which the only way you can win is for your opponent to submit. The is also a finisher only match, where the only way to win is to do your wrestler's finishing move. All in all, it's an A+ game, but [and it took me a while to come up with this] plan on BUYING it if you want to win all three titles, because it takes a while. Overall Rating: 10 Email The Charger about this review.
