This is an awesome web site so surf on by! Email The Charger about this story. America On Line (AOL) has just released its new internet access software, AOL 5.0. This new AOL program improves on previous versions in several ways. It adds a calendar, a new mail box called "Pictures," a better search engine, a new welcome screen, and seven screen names. You can also retrieve recently deleted e-mail, create e-mail signatures and get information or "Profiles" about other AOL members. The new calendar feature helps you organize your daily schedule. Your "Pictures" mailbox lets you get pictures straight from the Eastman Kodak Company that you sent to be developed. The new search engine lets you search more of the Internet without leaving the AOL service. It also ranks the results of your search. The new welcome screen has several new features. The Channel Guide gives you access to all of AOL's channels. Channels are windows of information that constantly update on your screen such as news from CNN. You can now search from the welcome screen and easily access a list of the places you visit mostly frequently on the Internet. You can now click the "Get Profile" button to instantly access a members profile in the member directory. Talk about being convenient. Probably the best thing of all is that on AOL 5.0 you get to have seven screen names. That is two more then the previous AOL version. With the new option to retrieve recently deleted e-mail, you can recover e-mail that you deleted in the last 24 hours. Although AOL 5.0 has its advantages, the down side is that AOL can sometimes be slow. The new features, however, make AOL 5.0 worth the upgrade because it is easier to use. 4 of 5 stars.
