Change isn't always good
By Bryan C.
We have a few changes to look forward to this year. First, we have the same advisory class and teacher we had last year. For those who did not like their advisory, this will be a tough change.
Every year we look forward to seeing who is in our new advisory, but this year it won't be so exciting. Staying in one advisory for an entire year is boring enough.
Another change is that eighth graders will not go on the Great America trip anymore. As a class last year, we had an average number of detentions and the milk incident was our only major discipline problem.
The past two years, our class has done a good job on making the honor roll. It's not fair that the class before us went to Great America with their numerous problems.
To sum it all up, we should have some input on whether we want a new advisory or not. Furthermore, the Great America trip should continue this spring.
We can only hope, but it won't help, since my other editorials never came to be!

Together
Eighth grader reflects on the Peacock experience
By Maggie F.
We've been "together," from kindergarten through eighth grade, and people have come and gone. Now that we are in eighth grade, we are supposed to mature and become leaders in the school.
When we were just sixth graders a lot of us thought, "Wow! What a big school. How am I gonna find my way around?" But all of us got though that first year. We made new friends and kept our old ones.
Seventh grade was easier to start but we had harder classes and tougher teachers. Now we're entering eighth grade and we're still holding on.
We think, "This is no big deal!" and "This school is so small." We are the oldest in the school and we know how to do the stuff we didn't in sixth grade.
Our major challenge is to get to know each other better and to be able to stay friends. In high school, we might not even see everyone and will be the babies of the school again. But we will do it together.
