Moby in concert offered a panorama of light and sound Last month, I went to see Moby at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. On the way out of the Jamaican restaurant I ate at before the show, I wondered what would the concert be like, because he samples all his music. Moby plays techno and dance music. His hits include "Natural Blues," "Body Rock," and "Porcelain." He opened with "Machete." Hearing this piece live made it my favorite song all over again. He personally sang it, so it added a little more depth. There was an accompanying spectacular light show with huge strobe lights circling the stage, a multitude of colored lights, and a great backup band. I was right behind the sound booth, so I had a perfect view of the stage. Moby's "James Bond Remix" features sounds from the movies and a remix of the theme song. When I heard this, I decided to borrow my friend's copy of I like to Score, which features the" Bond remix" so that I could listen to it again. Overall, the concert was excellent, and I recommend attending his next Chicago show. Email The Charger about this story. Charmed Go into a world where warlocks, demons, and witches exist. In its third season, Charmed is a great show. It is about three sisters who are witches - Prue Halliwell (Shannon Doherty, 90210), Piper Halliwell (Holly Marie Combs, Pickett Fences), and Phoebe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano, Who's The Boss?). The sisters only use their powers for good causes. Prue can move objects with her mind and astro-project, Piper is able to freeze time, and Phoebe has premonitions and can levitate. Together they fight warlocks and demons to save the world. Their white-ladder (an angel for witches) Leo helps them out. Charmed airs on Thursday nights at 8:00 P.M. on "The WB." If you're into witches, demons, and warlocks, you should really watch Charmed. Email The Charger about this story. Meet the Parents laughs its way into theaters Greg (Ben Stiller) goes to meet the parents of the love of his life to see if her dad will allow him to marry his daughter, Pam (TeriPolo). From the moment he pulls up in the driveway, to the time he is forced to leave, Greg's a living disaster and a clumsy fool. Predictably, Pam's dad, Jack Byrns (Robert Deniro), doesn't like Greg from the start. When Greg is forced into the "Circle of Trust," he is forced back out many times. He has to find a way to stay in so he can marry Pam. He eventually gets put back in. Meanwhile he messes up on a lot of things, not to mention losing their most prized possession. We recommend Meet the Parents. Email The Charger about this story. Do you want property on the world wide web? ".com" is one of the most used domains in the world. But if you are looking to buy a domain from .Com domain, you are not going to be able to purchase it cheaply. Furthermore, you probably will not even be able to get the name you want. That's one of the reasons why the makers of ".tv" started their domain. .tv is the newest domain for the world wide web. It is supposed to make your online experience more television-like . It will support streaming video and music. Many of the websites that end in .tv, however, are not really done yet because the domain has pretty much just opened up. Domain names from .tv are running for about $50. There are hidden costs, however. For all you interested young web masters, you can get a .tv address at www.tv. Star Wars Episode One: Jedi Power Battles One of my favorite movies is Star Wars Episode 1, so I thought I'd review a Star Wars game. Having rented this game twice before, I can't get tired of it. You can be one of the following Jedi nights, Obi-wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Plo Koon, Adi Gallia, or Mace Windu, as you fight your way through Star Wars Episode 1's most historic battles, such as escaping from the deadly Trade Federation Battleship, to protecting Anakin Skywalker from Tusken Raiders on Tattoine. Star Wars Episode One is measured by points, you get them by destroying enemies with yourlightsaber and getting special items. At the end of each level, your points are measured up. If you get 5,000 points you get a lightsaber combo that does even more damage to your enemies. If you get 12,000 points or more, you get an energy boost, you can either increase your health or increase you power with the Force. One cool thing I found on one of my favorite web sites is that if you beat the game as Qui-Gon Jinn, Press select when Qui-Gon is highlighted in the character selection room, and you can play the game as Darth Maul! May the Force be with you, good luck with the Jedi Power Battles! Slingo swings If you're on AOL (America Online Internet Service) I have a game for you. But sometimes it can become addictive. It's called Slingo. It's played sort of like bingo but way better. Slingo begins with a bingo-like card with twenty-five numbers. Then on the side after all the players are in you click a box that says "Try Spin." Now five boxes on the bottom will come upyou will either receive a number; a "devil," which means that you lose half of your points; a "cupid," which saves your points from the "devil"; a "joker," where you can pick any number in that row; or a "coin," which gives you points. Slingo is a very fun game. To play Slingo, surf to AOL keyword Slingo. Then a screen will come up and say private or public. I always click public because public is free; private costs money. It takes about ten or fifteen minutes to download Slingo. Then a screen will appear, saying in one box "Slingo" and in another box "X-Press." I play X-Press but you can play which ever one you want. You might want to know some Slingo language because there is a little chat room that you can turn on or off: gl=good luck; csm=cupid saved me; dd=darn; devil wtg=way to go; gg=good game; SLINGO!!!=I Win Email The Charger about this story. MP3 players compared The battle of the mp3 players has begun! It is down to Winamp vs. Sonique. Winamp is a extremely reliable and popular service, with a quick and easy configuration. Sonique has awesomely detailed visuals, cool free form skins, and many modes. Winamp is more reliable because it is a smaller file with fewer configurations. This makes it rather fast and basic. Sonique's best feature is its free form skins that can be sized in any way you like. It also has mesmerizing, and amazing visualizations. On the downside, Sonique's amazing visualizations also slow down your computer, and its free form skins can also be rather random. With Sonique you can also change the pitch and tempo. Both mp3 players are totally customizable as far as appearance goes. But if you can afford it, I would suggest buying an mp3 player since it will come with a CD containing player software. Therefore, you won't have to risk downloading a virus along with your mp3 player. On the other hand, however, downloaded mp3 players are free, so it's your call. If you are looking for a quick and easy mp3 player, go to either www.winamp.com or www.sonique.com. The best option for Mac users is SoundJam, available at www.soundjam.com. The graphics are a 9. Sound would probably be a 9 also. Play control should be an 8. Game play is a 9. The fun factor should be a 10 because you can choose from a lot of tracks, cars, and more. Overall this game should be rated a 9. The price is $20-40 (for playstation). The number of players is 1-2. The challenge is not adjustable. This game is analog compatible. If you don't know what racing game to choose, this one would be a great choice. Email The Charger about this story. One Word I have one word for those of you who say you don't care. X-Games N-64 fun As I was browsing through Blockbuster, I realized I had never reviewed an extreme sport related game. If you are like me, you should to try Super Cross 2000. This is a dirt bike game. Super Cross 2000 offers several ways to play. You can refine your racing skills in Practice mode or jump right into a randomly selected race and rider in Quick Race. In the Freestyle mode you can show off stunts and tricks. There are over thirty riders to choose from in Super Cross, and each have there own bikes, tendencies and skill levels. There are also several tracks to ride on, and each with its own degree of difficulty. The controls are a little shaky at first, but if you practice, you'll get better. Overall, this is a solid game, but if you're not a big X-games fan, you probably won't enjoy it. Overall Rating: 8 Graphics: 7 Play Controls: 6 Game Play: 7 Fun Factor: 8 Price: $40-50 Number of Players: 2 Difficulty: Beginner, Rookie, Pro Email The Charger about this story.
