By Paul P. Op-Ed editor The September 11 attacks on America seem to have brought out the patriotism in everyone. Every car that you look at seems to have a sticker or the windshield or bumper of the American flag. Some people actually care about the country. Others just do it because caring sells.
If they really cared, maybe they'd give away some of their millions of dollars. They would start funds and other such things; wearing an "I Love New York" shirt just doesn't cut it. People are dead and all you can do is color the insignia of your channel red, white and blue? I think someone should make a commercial stating, "Too cheap to send a donation? Buy a hat!" Although many people who made donations do care, I think that some did it to look like they love their country with all their heart. Some of these pretenders get on the case of those who don't flaunt their fake patriotism. If you get tired of waving a flag, maybe you could actively do something like voting in elections. Our country has horrible voter turnout. The real heroes are those that know true patriotism in their heart; not flying from an antenna.
