What do you do if you are asked to try drugs or alcohol?  You just say “NO” and walk away.  Drugs are harmful to the body, the brain, and to the person that you are.  I think it is wrong to abuse drugs or alcohol for any reason.

You should stay the person you are and are becoming.  People who use drugs and alcohol might think that they are cool.  You should never use drugs or alcohol.  You can get arrested if you use alcohol under age.  You might even go to Juvenile Hall.

Fourteen out of 100 kids at junior or senior high schools do drugs or drink alcohol.  Kids that use drugs or alcohol might hide it in other people’s lockers because they don’t want to get in trouble.  You should keep your locker locked.

The risk of taking drugs is really high for some people.  Drugs are very bad for you. They are very harmful.  They can hurt you in bad ways.  Drugs may make you feel good for a little while, but they really don’t do you any good. Don’t ever use drugs!

Types of Drugs

There are different types of drugs.  I will tell you a little bit about them.  One of them is nicotine, a highly addictive substance found in cigarettes. Another is alcohol.  Alcohol is a depressant. It can cause drunkenness, loss of balance, and changed personality.

Another illegal drug is marijuana.  Some slang names are pot, weed, grass and reefers.   Cocaine is usually snorted into your nose. It can be smoked as “crack” or “rock”.  It can be injected too.  They are very bad for you.

D.A.R.E. is very useful. It tells you the bad things about using drugs. There are many side effects to using drugs.  They are very bad for you.  Never use drugs!
